"Where do we go from here?" -You are a Priest

Have students list any Major or Personal Accomplishments in the following categories:

Sports

Academics

Band/Choir/Drama

Miscellaneous/anything you are proud of

Kingdom of God

What do you have to show for your accomplishments?

(i.e. trophy, medal, badge, scar, picture, award?)

Top 10 (10 Minutes)

Have students take about 5 minutes to compile a top 10 accomplishments a person could achieve in their lifetime. After everyone is done, have them share their top 3. Then have students compile a ‘corporate’ top 10 list made up of the groups top 10 accomplishments.

Who’s attention/approval are you attempting to gain when you accomplish any of the above goals? Why is ‘said’ person’s approval so important?

What is the greatest accomplishment you have achieved at this point in your life?

You were put on earth to make a contribution. What do you think your contribution(s) may be? How are you supposed to know what kind of contribution you are to make?

You first must realize that you were saved so you could serve. What are you a apart of (group/organization) that you aren’t required to do anything?

Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”

I John 3:14 “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”

Who are the ministers at this church? 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.’

(also in Revelation 1:6; 5:10)

What does it mean the moment you are saved? Where will you spend eternity? So, why doesn’t God just take us to heaven then? (Because he has work for us to do)

The most important light in your house is not a brilliant chandelier, but the little night light that keeps you from stubbing your toe in the middle of the night.

Matthew 20:28 “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." -we are commanded to serve –it isn’t an option.

When you grow up, move away, you will look for a new church home. When looking, don’t say, “I’m looking for a church that meets my needs and blesses me.” Instead say, “I’m looking for a place to serve and be a blessing.”

Romans 14:12 “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” -God is keeping track of our ‘ministry’.

What matters is not the duration of your life, but the donation of it. Are you donating yourself to ministry –serving others and therefore serving God?
